QB1/QB1e
Portable constant flow samplers | Ambient Air Samplers
The QB1 is a family of portable constant flow samplers, designed for use in a variety of air sampling applications requiring low to mid-flow capabilities.
Built with the everyday technician in mind, the QB1 is easy to use, rugged, and reliable. It features built-in protections for particulate matter and liquids, which are the primary causes of damage to the pump and dry gas meter.
For those needing manual isokinetic sampling, the QB1e line can be synchronised with ST2 speed and flow meter.
All versions of the QB1 are capable of automatic pressure drop compensation, ensuring high flow constance even during long-term operations.
Equipped with a dry gas meter, high precision flowmeter, and thermometer for volume normalisation, the QB1 meets industry standards. Additionally, the pneumatic circuit has been designed to eliminate flow pulsations resulting from the use of diaphragm pumps.
Choose the QB1 for reliable and precise ambients air samplers in a portable and convenient package.

GIANO BC1
Black Carbon Sequential PMx Sampler | Ambient Air Samplers
Giano BC1 is an innovative Sequential PMx Sampler equipped with a real-time Black Carbon analyzer directly integrated into the sampling filter. This groundbreaking system was developed through a collaboration between PM_Ten, a spin-off of the University of Genoa responsible for the design, and Dado lab, which handled the engineering and implementation within their sequential sampler.
Giano BC1 holds the distinction of being the world’s first PMx sampling system that can accurately measure Black Carbon concentration in real time, directly on the filter being sampled. This advanced technology represents a significant advancement in air quality monitoring and analysis.
The Giano BC1 black carbon Sequential PMx Sampler uses a patented, innovative approach to measuring black carbon concentration that differs from traditional analyzers. By measuring the reflectance of the laser beam instead of using transmittance, the Giano BC1 achieves a linear correlation to the absorbing coefficient (ABS), resulting in highly accurate and reliable data.
Integrating the BC sensor onto the sequential sampler has the significant benefit of providing real-time readings during sampling operations directly on the field.
To comply with the requirements of method EN12341:2014, the Giano BC1 includes a liquid cooler Peltier cell conditioning system. This system effectively maintains the temperature of exposed filters below 20°C when the ambient temperature exceeds 23°C.

PMx | Giano & Gemini
Sequential Samplers | Ambient Air Samplers
The PMx sequential samplers Mod. Giano and Gemini enhance practicality, portability, and user-friendliness compared to other options available. Both models share a multi-purpose core unit (MPC) that enables sequential sampling on a single or double channels. The MPC concept allows for outdoor cabinet installation or 19″ rack installation in shelters or mobile labs.
The design of these samplers places significant emphasis on systems engineering, reducing the number of parts to increase reliability while also reducing the size and weight of the samplers. In fact, Giano and Gemini weigh only 35 kg (excluding the pump/s and support stand).
The MPC and outdoor cabinet are designed with forced internal air recirculation, ensuring that the ventilation tube, filter under sampling, and exposed samples are at ambient temperature. The optional air conditioning unit is necessary for applications in environments where ambient temperatures can be particularly high. It maintains filter area temperature below 25°C in case of ambient temperature exceeding 25°C. The air conditioning unit is located beneath the cabinet and provides high cooling performance. Unlike other solutions, the air conditioning system does not require special protections or insulation for the filter tanks, which can still be easily accessed and changed in the field.

TARGETED POLLUTANTS
POPs – persistent organic pollutants
POPs have been discovered to be the relevant part of emissions to the environment causing health effects, including dioxins (PCCD/F), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), hexachlorobenzene (HCB) and others. These compounds have a high stability, low volatility and are degraded very slowly. Due to the lipophilic character, an accumulation in the human body takes place.
Fine & Coarse dust
Fine dust is the portion of solids in gases being the focus of concern for pulmonary health effects. ParTrace® cartridges trace the fine dust fraction of general concern, PM10, PM2.5, PM1, and splits them in the respective fractions within one sampling run.
