The ARMS2 is based on proven gas detection technologies enhanced to meet the specific requirements of the F-Gas Regulation. Under the F-Gas Regulation it is mandatory for sites with an overall refrigerant charge in excess of 300kg to install a fixed refrigerant leak detection system. This can be achieved with the ARMS 2 fixed gas leak detection system.

By definition, the ARMS 2 is a calibrated system for detecting leakage of fluorinated greenhouse gases, which on detection, alerts the operator. Supports current & future refrigerant usage on site, reducing requirement for multiple systems or additional installations. Currently operational on over 150 sites, the future-proof Automatic Refrigerant Monitoring System (ARMS) is a proven fixed gas leak detection system for commercial and industrial applications.

New Regulations Penalise Use of High Global Warming Potential (GWP) Gases

Starting in 2015, the cap and phase down provisions will limit the total supply of HFCs across the EU, measured in total tonnes of CO2 equivalent (CO2e). CO2e is the total weight of each gas multiplied by its respective GWP. EN 517/2014 will use the 4th IPCC assessment GWP values. F-Gas system CO2e charge sizes will be used to determine leak check frequency and leak detection requirements. Charge size thresholds will thus depend on the refrigerant gas installed in the system.
